Quick answer

Ubud is the cultural heart of Bali — temples, rice terraces, a royal palace, dance performances, a vibrant art scene, and food traditions from three continents. This is a short list of what to do first.

Morning: Campuhan Ridge Walk

Go before 08:00 to beat the heat. A gentle ridge walk between two rivers, ending in a village of family compounds. Bring water. Come back for a proper breakfast.

Late morning: Ubud Palace & Market

The palace is quick to visit and free. The market is best early — fruit, incense, sarongs, wooden carvings. Bargain politely.

Afternoon: Monkey Forest & Yoga

Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is an hour well spent. Yoga Barn and Radiantly Alive offer drop-in classes if you have more time.

Evening: Dinner & culture

Dinner at SkaZka Bali, followed by a Legong or Kecak dance performance at the palace or one of the nearby temples. Traditional, spectacular, and a fitting way to close the day.
